SFU FROSH T-SHIRT
A t-shirt design project for SFU's frosh in 2015 with the theme of technology and pixels. It was a last minute project assigned to me when the initial design was not working for the SIAT's student council.

challenges
Making this design was one of the most challenging ones i've gotten since the criteria for the t-shirt design was so broad and vague but it was also an informative experience that taught me a lot about how to iterate. It made me realize the importance of good communication and of how essential it is to work with the client to fit their vision and to make it look good at the same time, I ended up doing many versions of the design, from mascots based on the original idea (computer, camera and tablet mascots) to an overarching design of pixels and gaming. I also learned that SAVING IS IMPORTANT. I lost two other pixel mascots (the tablet and the computer) due to crashes but luckily, the client decided against having mascots.

the one that worked
finally, after much trial and error, The design on the left was made--it was something that I could work with and that the client liked. After tinkering with colors and different objects, the one on the left was eventually made.

testing out how the shapes would fit and create harmony

different iterations and arrangements of color and objects
final outcome
After the final design was made and approved, the T-shirts were finally made. One version on a white t-shirt for the froshies and the grey shirts for the frosh leaders.

PATRICK PHOTOGRAPHY
A logo for a clients' identity for his photography and other works. My client wanted a logo that would represent him and not just the photography aspect of his work. With a short timeline, I tried to create a simple, yet efficient identity for him as well as 2 possible buisness cards.

synopsis
Working in a diverse team of a coder, a buisness marketer and a research analyzer, I thouroughly enjoyed working on this project, especially as I was able to work on design and user interface/ user experience. The original pitch idea stemmed from a current research essay I was working on about food waste from grocery stores (and the general retail level) and how it negatively impacts the environment. We wanted to create something that would use these so called damaged foods instead of having them end up in the landfills.
